The Life of a Cheerleading Coach

About the Host:

My name is Marley Sievers. I am a Colorado Native and have lived in the Denver Metropolitan area my entire life. I recently moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho to be closer to the people I love.

I have a passion for cheerleading, coaching, and choreography. I began my journey as a coach when I was only 18 years old. I am the former head coach of a 5A Varsity Cheerleading team, where I worked for two seasons. During the summers, I work for the National Cheerleaders Association as a head instructor, where I teach high school and middle school cheer teams in a summer camp setting. Through NCA, I am also a silver level choreographer. I will be heading into my seventh summer with the company, and intend to work for them for many years. I am currently the Head Varsity coach for a 4A cheerleading team in Idaho Falls and their state routine choreographer. This will be my fifth season as a high school cheerleading coach.

In this episode, I interview Coach Kathy Murray, who is a collegiate champion from Ohio State University, as well as the former coach and choreographer for The Munich Cowboys Cheerleaders. There, her team won 6 National and 2 European Championships. Kathy has over 25 years of experience in cheerleading and over fifteen years of experience in coaching and choreography.
 
She is also the Co-Author of the Audible original, The Munich Cowboys Cheerleaders. Kathy Murray – Over 25 years cheering and over fifteen years coach and choreographer. Began cheering at the age of twelve. Cheer captain in High school, choreographer for 1st place pom State championship.
